"WHALE" (We Have a Little Emergency)
The Kiwanis Club of Pawley’s Island, in cooperation with the Georgetown Police Department, is sponsoring a child safety program known as “WHALE”. (We Have A Little Emergency). The “Whale” program provides identification stickers for parents with children still using car seats. The identification stickers attach to the back of the car seat and contain emergency contact information as well as medical history data about the child. This gives emergency responders valuable information should the vehicle be involved in an accident and adult passengers are unable to provide needed information. Each packet contains an information sticker for the back of the car seat, “WHALE” identification stickers for the outside of the seat and window decals to alert emergency workers to the information sticker on the car seat. To obtain a “WHALE” packet and stickers for your child seat, contact the Georgetown Police Department Community Services Section at 545-4323, or come by the Georgetown Police Department at 2222 Highmarket St. in Georgetown.
