AMERICA RECYCLES DAY NOVEMBER 15
Each November the nation celebrates America Recycles Day. On this day, throughout America, people will learn more about recycling, and will celebrate the success of recycling in reducing the amount of solid waste deposited in expensive, sanitary landfills.
Keep Georgetown Beautiful joined with Georgetown County Environmental Services to help promote recycling in our elementary schools and hosted a "Recycle Your Homework" Contest to all elementary schools through out the county. The contest was held the week of America Recycles Day, November 14 - 18, 2005.
Browns Ferry and McDonald Elementary School students collected over twice as much homework and classroom paper to recycle as all the other elementary schools in the district.
Browns Ferry Elementary School

Browns Ferry Elementary School students "physically" spell out R-E-C-Y-C-L-E when they are congratulated by KGB during a school assembly.
McDonald Elementary School
