Drinking Water Services

The City of Georgetown obtains untreated raw water primarily from the Pee Dee River. Water from ground water wells is used as a back-up source. Present capacity allows for the filtration of up to 6 million gallons per day of raw water.

Untreated raw water is processed by the city's water filtration plant and delivered to users through the potable water distributation system. Treated water meets or exceeds all potable water standards set by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control. Treated water quality is listed in the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), which is published on an annual basis. For customer service information, refer to the Water Utilities Department web page or go to the "Quick Links" section of this page.
