A City of Character

Georgetown is a member of the International Association of Character Cities. This organization provides assistance to Cities such as Georgetown who realize that good character is the key to solving many problems.
The City has established a steering committee that promotes character education by focusing on one identified character trait per month. This committee has co-addressed organizations such as the Georgetown County School District into an effort to reach all segments of the community. Stressing good character in each family in Georgetown is vital if our community is to realize its full potential.
The non-profit board called Georgetown Character First was formed to promote Character First initiatives in the Georgetown community. Current board members are:
