Harborwalk renovation - Scope of work and submittal form 

GENERAL INFORMATION

The City of Georgetown is accepting bids from qualified contractors for the renovation of the Georgetown Harborwalk facility adjacent to Georgetown Harbor in the historic downtown commercial district.

The project consists of removing the existing deck boards, handrail system, and lighting and replacing these components. The pressure treated southern yellow pine deck boards will be removed and replaced with Ipe boards as shown in the project drawings and as specified. The existing handrail which consists of 6x6 posts and the galvanized 2-1/2 in. pipe handrails will be removed, properly disposed of or salvaged, and a new handrail system consisting of Ipe posts and rails with stainless steel wire rope ballusters will be installed as shown in the project drawings and as specified. Existing light fixtures will be removed and replaced with new fixtures as shown in the project drawings and as specified.

The Contractor shall perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the contract documents, specifications, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and will conform to all  conditions the as specified in the general construction permits and the City of Georgetown’s requirements.

The City of Georgetown reserves the right to review all bids and information provided to determine the best combination of value and services, to waive any technicalities or informalities, and to accept or reject any and/or all bids deemed by its sole judgment to be in its best interest.

NOTICE

TO ALL CONSULTING ENGINEERING FIRMS

 

The City of Georgetown, SC requests qualifications from consulting engineering firms experienced in civil engineering services for the design, permitting, and construction inspection necessary to construct a residential street in Georgetown, SC. The selected firm shall provide surveys; preliminary designs & plans; permit applications; final construction plans; advertising & bidding; and engineering services during construction.

Consulting firms interested in being considered for this project should respond with three (3) copies of the following: letter of interest, direct response to the selection criteria identified below, current resume of qualifications, personnel rate schedule, and any other pertinent information. The preceding shall be limited to 20 double-spaced pages printed on one side only. The selection will be based on information submitted; however, interviews or requests for additional information may be required.

In the consultant selection, the City will consider the following: experience, qualifications, and technical competence of consultant and/or sub-consultant in the types of work required; CADD compatibility, quality control policy & procedure, and key project personnel and rate schedule (35%); ability to meet anticipated schedules & budget requirements, present & projected workloads, organization, resources, and subconsultants (30%); past performance on similar type of projects (25%); and geographic location of consultant's office performing the work (10%).

Consultants shall comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The contract will be on the basis of lump sum or cost plus fixed fee with a contract maximum at the discretion of the City.

Request for Proposal

Docking Facilities for Large Touring Vessel Charter/Sailing Excursions
 Note: Proposals accepted until contract agreement is finalized.

The City of Georgetown, South Carolina, is soliciting proposals from qualified touring/charter vessel companies for the use of its docking facilities at Francis Marion Park. At minimum, the proposal must include providing a large touring vessel such as a “tall sailing ship”, schooner, or similar type of sailing vessel that could accommodate a large number of tourists or passengers, as well as provide chartering/sailing excursion services in the City’s nearby waters. The docking facility is located along the City’s Harborwalk at Francis Marion Park on Front Street in Downtown Georgetown, South Carolina. The City will make docking space available through a contract period not to exceed five (5) years in return for a proposed annual fee for dock usage. Proposed fee should include all labor, materials, fuel, and any and all equipment used in the performance of an agreement, as well as taxes, applicable insurance, licenses, and permits. Proposed fee must remain in effect for ninety (90) days from the date proposal is submitted to the City. Proposer should outline marketing and sales methodology and knowledge of touring vessels and excursions.
